BQCFL Statement re Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The BQCFL supports and promotes a climate that fosters a sense of belonging for individuals and groups; our community members are expected to use preferred names and pronouns, address one another respectfully, avoid unnecessary profanity, and avoid exclusionary language including language that may be offensive or insulting to another based on gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, physical appearance or ability, or style of dress.
In spaces such as the extemp prep room, Congress chambers, and competition rooms, a professional atmosphere needs to be maintained: harassment or unwelcome communications of any kind, uninvited socialization, and/or solicitation/exchange of personal information such as social media handles or phone numbers should not be taking place in these particular spaces.
Any individual who feels that these standards have been violated can submit a report, named or anonymously, at this link. Adults are encouraged to intervene in situations where they observe conduct violations as well as report them to our DEI Coordinator, Adam King.
The BQCFL encourages a victim to make a report at the earliest convenient time, but even if significant time has passed, we will take all reports seriously. Of course, any serious personal violation can be, and should be, reported to local law enforcement authorities as well.
