1 * BE IT ENACTED BY THIS CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
2 Section 1. All public events that require police-issued permits to use public space must be defended by sufficient police patrols or sufficient S.W.A.T patrols.
3 Section 2. “Sufficient police patrols” shall be defined as two armed police officers per 169 square yards of space the event is taking place in.
4 “Sufficient S.W.A.T patrols” shall be defined as two armed S.W.A.T team members per 324 square yards of space the event is taking place in.
5 Section 3. The implementation of this legislation will be overseen by the Department of Homeland Security.
6 A. If local law enforcement deem the above specifications to be insufficient for a particular event, greater police or S.W.A.T patrols may be utilized.
7 B. All municipalities that spend funds on ensuring patrols are used for public events may request federal reimbursement for the cost of the patrols.
8 Section 4. This legislation shall be put into effect one month after passage.
9 Section 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
